In 2010 will mark the second century HOLY YEAR. Compostela Holy Year is celebrated since Middle Age, when the feast of St.James the Greater, July 25 falls on a Sunday. This often happens every 6,5, 6 and 11 years.
Holy or JUBILEE YEAR is an age in which the Catholic Church grants singular spiritual graces to the faithful. In order to win the Jubilee and obtain the Plenary Indulgence is required:
- To visit the Apostle Tomb in the Cathedral and to pray something.
- To receive the Sacrament of Confession (either in the Cathedral or whenever a fortnight after or before).
- To receive the Communion.
